For beginners we recommend thread-by-strand eyelash extensions. In order to learn correct application and proper positioning of each strand to achieve a tidy effect and good strength, we start by applying one strand of extension on a natural eyelash.
Threaded lashes are applied individually to the natural lash, while premade lashes are already formed fans that help reduce working time.
W, Y and U lashes are multi-tip extensions. W fans are W-shaped fans with a flat base, Y fans are Y-shaped fans with a flat base, and U fans are more angled U-shaped fans with a thinner base. Created to give a fuller effect with fewer extensions applied. Used when quick volume is desired.
In most cases, hand-crafted volume lasts longer because the hand-fan, done correctly, molds better to the natural lash, the base 'hugs' the strand, and the adhesive works on more surface area. The technician chooses the right thickness, controls the opening and adjusts the length.
Premade eyelash extensions with volume up to 5D hold up better than those with higher volume, because they have a thinner base and lighter weight. No matter how good the adhesive is, it is irrelevant as long as the weight of the fan is high and the natural lashes are under tension. The correct application of premade eyelash extensions depending on the individual natural eyelash, the direction of its growth and the choice of the right adhesive for the working speed, matters most in increasing the strength of premade eyelash extensions.
Barhat eyelash extensions are made of PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate). This is the best material for eyelash extensions because it provides an elastic, light, stable and hypoallergenic fiber.
DO NOT make eyelash extensions out of natural hair because there is no uniformity, the strands are different in thickness, the curls do not keep their strength, they absorb water and sebum, the adhesive does not adhere properly, and natural hair retains bacteria and can cause many allergies.
The terms 'mink' and 'silk' refer to the effect. For example: 'mink' - means a more natural and matt effect, while 'silk' - means a glossier effect.
If we hear about 'eyelash extensions' made of natural hair, it would be good to know all these aspects and realize that it is just marketing and not reality.
For fragile natural eyelashes, thinner extensions are recommended, which do not weigh down and do not affect the structure of the natural hair.
The differences between them are several. Premium eyelash extensions have a curl that is harder to deform, the color is more intense, more strands per strip (often double or even more than a strip with standard eyelash extensions), they are easier to detach from the palette and their material is less allergenic.
The correct application of eyelash extensions involves the use of multiple curlers. Just as our natural eyelashes do not have the same curl everywhere, so the extensions we apply should be combined depending on the length of the natural lash and the effect we want to achieve.
2D/3D/4D are not styles, but quantity. The letter D stands for dimension and says how many strands to apply on a natural eyelash.
Specifically:
2D = 2 threads per natural eyelash
3D = 3 threads per natural eyelash
4D = 4 threads per natural eel
For the cleanest look of colored eyelash extensions, we recommend a clear adhesive. You can find it on Barhat under the name Versatile.
